Southend Brewery & Smokehouse, downtown charleston south carolina, celebrates Oktoberfest all month long! With a seasonal brew handcrafted by our resident brewmaster and an unbelievable specialty dish created by our new chef, Southend Brewery is the place to indulge in Fall favorites.

The first Oktoberfest was held back in 1810 in Munich, Germany as a celebration of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria’s engagement.  The celebration lasted for 16 days and provided the best local beer and brats to all residents of the village.  In the spirit of the original Oktoberfest, Southend Brewery says let the beer flow…for days on end!

With a nod to our Bavarian friends, our new seasonal brew is Autumn Brown Ale.  Available for only a few more weeks, it is not to be missed! It is brown ale made with toasted oats, Belgian candied sugar, malt and spices of cinnamon, clove, allspice and hopped with German Tettnanger hops.

What goes better with a great brown ale than the perfect brats dish?

Inspired by the great signature beer found in our brewery, Chef Garrett Priester has created the mouth-watering special, Brewmaster Brats.

Introduced during Charleston Restaurant Week, this dish has quickly become a favorite at Southend.  Featuring local Keegan-Filion Farms Carolina Garlic Brats, the dish is perfected with sautéed peppers and onions, sea salt baked potatoes and whole grain mustard aioli.  We know it sounds good and it definitely looks but wow, does it taste amazing!

We look forward to seeing you at Southend Brewery!  Bis Bald!
