Heading to Charleston SC for Memorial Day weekend? With a three-day weekend, there’s a lot of fun to be had in the Holy City and right here at Southend Brewery & Smokehouse! Come on by for the best beer in town, best American cuisine, great music, dancing and even beautiful artwork on display for Spoleto. Whew! It’s a feast for the eyes, spirit and palate, friends!

Of course, we must start with the beer. Its going to be a hot weekend and there’s nothing better than a cold beer for taking a break from walking around downtown. Since we hand-craft our own micro brews, we admit that it’s tough to choose just one beer. We suggest our sample tray to get a taste of Brewmaster Ahren Warf’s amazing craft. There’s always a new seasonal brew on tap as well as our most popular beers, Love Me Two Times Blonde and Castle Pinckney Pale Ale.

American cuisine is definitely a must this weekend. We have a crazy amount of suggestions from our menu that are sure to please, but here’s a few of our staff’s favorites:

Can’t go wrong with a Certified USDA Black Angus Burger! Cooked the way you like it, our mouth-watering burgers can be topped with your choice(s) of American or Swiss cheese, grilled onions, mushrooms, bacon or coleslaw.

Looking for a little Southern American? Try our Carolina Slow Smoked BBQ Pork sandwich. Served with fried pickles, Southern slaw and your choice of BBQ sauce, it is delicious.

Coming with a crowd? Order a rack (or two or three…) of our BBQ Hickory Smoked Danish Baby Back Ribs. Straight from our smokehouse grill, it’s all the best elements of a cookout without (you) doing the cooking…just sit back and enjoy!

A celebration is not a celebration without music and dancing. On Friday night, The E.S.P. Trio takes the Southend stage at 7 p.m. and delivers the best light contemporary jazz in Charleston. Looking to shake things up a bit this weekend ? Saturday nights always belong to DJ Luigi’s Latin Groove at Southend Brewery. The dancing begins at 10:30 p.m., but come a little early if you’d like a quick lesson before hitting the floor.

This weekend also begins the annual Spoleto and Piccolo Spoleto festivals in Charleston. One of the best times to be in Charleston, Spoleto features renowned artists, as well as, new talent in opera, theater, dance and visual arts.

This year, Southend Brewery is thrilled to celebrate the Spoleto season by hosting the artwork of local contemporary expressionist, Helen Duckworth. Beginning Wednesday, May 30th, Ms. Duckworth’s gorgeous collection “Stories of the Heart” will be on display on the third floor of the brewery. Vibrant and emotional, the collection celebrates the power of love and connection. It’s a must see!

We welcome locals and visitors alike to enjoy Memorial Day weekend with us at Southend Brewery!
