Many people think Cinco de Mayo is Mexican Independence Day, but we actually have to wait until September 16th for that celebration.  The observance of Cinco de Mayo marks Mexico’s victory over the French in the “Battle of Puebla” in 1862.  Today, Cinco de Mayo is celebrated all over the United States by everyone who loves and appreciates Mexican culture and heritage.  Of course, no celebration is complete without plenty of food, beverage and dance!

You can count on Southend Brewery to have the best beer in Charleston on tap, as well, as a bar stacked with bottled favorites.  If you are looking for something extra frosty, our frozen drink Margarita Especial fits the bill…perfecto!

 

 

You simply cannot…cannot!…miss out on the best nachos in Charleston found only at Southend Brewery.  Our nachos are overflowing with gooey cheese, chicken, black beans, pico de gallo, jalapenos and sour cream.  You can easily make a meal out of it or, if you are feeling generous, share with your entire table.  If you want a little Charleston mixed in with your Cinco de Mayo, check out our house speciality – shrimp and crab dip served with tortilla chip.  Sooo good!

 

 

Feeling creative? Build your own Mexican brick oven pizza.  Begin with the basics – our homemade crust and sauce – and add on cheddar jack cheese, diced tomatoes, jalapenos, chicken, black olives and ole!  you have a meal your whole family will love.

Every Saturday night at Southend Brewery & Smokehouse, we are treated to the sultry music and dance of DJ Luigi’s Latin Groove Nights on the third floor of the brewery.  What better night than Cinco de Mayo to take advantage of free salsa dance lessons?  The lessons begin at 10 p.m. and the salsa dancing gets into full swing at 10:30 p.m.  DJ Luigi is a guaranteed fun time!

At Southend Brewery, Cinco de Mayo is one of our favorite times of the year.  We are really looking forward to a great day and night on Saturday.  Can’t wait to see you!
