Southend Brewery and Smokehouse is located in the historic Wagener Building on East Bay Street, just down the street from the famous Rainbow Row and Waterfront Park. Our gorgeous building has three unique floors, accessible by our indoor glass elevator. A three-story atrium houses large copper and stainless steel brew tanks in which we brew six craft beers. An exhibition kitchen runs the length of the restaurant, extending into a large wood burning oven. We offer casual fine dining, live entertainment, banquet event space in downtown Charleston.
The building has long, interesting history since 1880 that continues on. Southend Brewery has a haunted past, featured on many local ghost tours as one of Charleston’s most haunted places.
Southend has a diverse menu, featuring regional American food and lowcountry cuisine including pastas, pizzas, fresh fish, and specialty in-house smoked items such as BBQ ribs, steaks, chicken and pulled pork. Take a ride in our glass elevator to the Harborview Bar for an unmatched view of the Charleston Harbor and a cold microbrew or libation. Play a few rounds on the dartboards, arcade games or four championship-sized pool tables that surround the perimeter of the room.
