Private Events

For award winning food, beer, and cocktails in a unique atmosphere, plan your party here at Southend Brewery and Smokehouse. We can completely cater to suit every taste and group. Southend offers two floors for your large party needs, both of which provide an excellent view of the Charleston Harbor. Our second floor can accommodate parties of up to 100 people for plated dinners and up to 80 people for buffet dinners. This floor offers a private and elegant atmosphere, perfect for seated dinners, where servers deliver drinks to your party from our third floor bar. The only rental fee that applies to this area is a room charge of $50.00 for parties of 20 or less. If your party is smaller or perhaps looking for a more casual environment you may opt to select the third floor. On this floor, we have a completely stocked bar with an adjacent seating area for up to 45 people, pool tables, video games, and dart boards. This is also a perfect space for large, informal parties that just want to kick back and relax, and it can comfortably hold up to 150 people standing. Remember, no matter which floor you choose for your private event, we can transform the area to suit your individual needs!

We offer a variety of menus to choose from including hors d’oeuvre, a la carte, pre-set, and custom menus. Any group of 20 or more is required to select from one of these banquet menus. In the event of a plated dinner, the host of the party pre-selects a menu of approximately 4 entrees and provides the individual guests with these options in advance. The guests, in turn, submit their selections to the host, and the host turns the list of guest names and entrée selections in via fax or email at least 10 days prior to the event. At this point place cards will be made that include the guests’ names and the entrée they have selected. Any salads, appetizers, or desserts served with plated dinners are pre-selected by the host only. The ONLY decision that the individual guest is required to make is that of his or her entrée. For buffet dinners the host selects the entire menu for the evening, offering a variety of salads, side items, entrees, and desserts. The menu choices for buffets must be submitted and finalized one week prior to the event. On all plated or buffet menus, the total is based on the number of confirmed people. This total can change up to 48 hours before the event and cannot drop in number from this point on, as established by a signed contract. If additional guests are added, the total will be adjusted at the time of the event. Groups of less than 20 people may choose from our large party menu at the time of the event.

To reserve a space in one or both our private dining areas, a $500.00 deposit is required via check or credit card. If you choose to write a check, it will be deposited immediately and deducted from the total cost of your banquet. A more popular choice is to simply provide us with a credit card number, which will serve to hold the reservation but will not be charged unless you choose to use it to pay the day of the event. Our cancellation policy is as follows: If a party must cancel for any reason, Southend Brewery and Smokehouse must have at least 7 days notice in order for the deposit to be returned. Should the notice of cancellation be less than 7 days or should there be no notice at all, either the deposited check will not be refunded or the credit card will be charged $500.00.

Southend accepts American Express, Visa, Discover, Master Card, local/business check with correct information, and cash. Payment can be made before or at the time of the event, or can be billed afterward.
