Though it’s often left off in conversation, the “Smokehouse” part of Southend Brewery and Smokehouse’s full name is an integral piece of the operation. Our smokers turn out delicious meats for our popular Bar-B-Que inspired dishes like the Pulled Pork Sandwich, Sliced Beef Brisket plate and our BBQ Hickory Smoked Danish Baby Back Ribs.
We’re throwing our smoker into high gear this weekend and bringing it to Charleston Scene’s Rub My Rib Contest. Our ribs will be put to the test next to Charleston’s other highly acclaimed ribs. We’re up against some pretty stiff competition, but we’re confident we will take home the prize.
A cool and cloudy weekend makes for perfect rib-eating weather. The event benefits Communities in Schools, a local nonprofit that inspires kids to stay in school, making this a fantastic, family friendly event. There will be live music from Gaslight Street and Old You and extra concessions if you need a beer to cleanse your palate between rib tastings.
Show up and give Southend Brewery and Smokehouse some rib-lovin’ this weekend! The Rub My Rib Contest is at the Maritime Center on Saturday, September 17th from 4 pm to 8 pm, giving you plenty of time to move the party back over to the restaurant for a night of Salsa dancing, darts or pool.
